Rotunda Beam Inscription Project

We are delighted to announce that insciption no. 6 by Kathleen Jamie was successful in achieving the most votes from the public, and also the independent panel of experts including the Scots Makar Liz Lochhead.

Kathleen's wonderful poem will be inscribed to the new replacement ring beam of the iconic 1960s-built Rotunda monument at the Bannockburn site.

Please keep a look out for project progress and other news updates here.

Here lies our land: every airt
Beneath swift clouds, glad glints of sun,
Belonging to none but itself.

We are mere transients, who sing
Its westlin’ winds and fernie braes,
Northern lights and siller tides,

Small folk playing our part.
‘Come all ye’, the country says
You win me, who take me most to heart.
